1. Rental Term
Totes are rented for the package period selected above, beginning on the delivery date. Rentals may be extended week-to-week by contacting Tote Hippo before the scheduled pickup date.
2. Delivery & Pickup
Delivery and pickup are free within Palm Beach County, FL. Unless prior arrangements are made with Tote Hippo, an adult must be present at both delivery and pickup. Customer agrees to have totes accessible, empty, and stacked in the original delivery location by the agreed pickup date. If you need the totes picked up at a different location, or need to arrange an unattended delivery or pickup, please contact Tote Hippo BEFORE the scheduled date.
3. Care of totes
Totes should be kept dry, when possible, and should not exceed a safe stacking height of four totes. Normal wear from ordinary use is expected and not charged.
4. Loss & Damage
Customer is responsible for the replacement cost of any tote or lid that is lost, cracked, or otherwise damaged beyond normal wear during the rental period. Current replacement cost for a damaged or lost tote is $15 per tote. Current replacement cost for a damaged or lost folding cart is $50 per cart. Current replacement cost for a damaged or lost tote taxi is $25 per tote taxi.
5. Late Returns
Totes not made available for pickup by the agreed date will be billed automatically at the applicable weekly extension rate until pickup is completed. 20 Tote Package - $40/week, 40 Tote Package - $60/week, 60 Tote Package - $80/week. ** If equipment is not returned within 30 days of delivery and no extension is arranged, it will be considered unreturned or lost. You authorize Tote Hippo to charge the card on file for the following: $15/per Tote/lid, $25 per tote taxi and $50 per folding cart. Returned items AFTER replacement charges have been processed may be refunded at our discretion.
6. Payment
Full package payment is due at booking. Add-on services and extensions are billed to the card on file at the time they are requested.
7. Cancellation
Bookings may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled delivery date. Cancellations inside 48 hours are refunded 50%.
8. Declutter Service
Totes marked for the Declutter Service must contain non-trash items only — no hazardous materials, no items in unusable condition, and the lid must be able to close fully with items inside. Items collected are considered donated to Tote Hippo, which will determine at its sole discretion whether to repurpose, rehome, resell, or donate each item — no proceeds are owed to the customer. Tote Hippo reserves the right to decline a tote that does not meet this standard; declined totes will be treated as a standard rental pickup instead.
9. Proper Use
Rented totes may NOT be used for:
- Hazardous or toxic materials
- Liquids without proper sealing
- Illegal or damaging contents
- Living creatures of any kind
10. Pickup Access
All totes must be empty (except for Declutter Service totes), accessible and ready for pickup on the designated date. All pets must be secured or inside (if applicable). If equipment / totes are not accessible, additional fees will apply.
11. Liability
Use of the totes and equipment is at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tote Hippo is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from or related to your use of the rented equipment, including during loading, hauling, moving or storage. You are responsible for using the equipment safely and for how it is used by anyone you allow to use it. This section does not apply to any liability that cannot be waived under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to hold Tote Hippo harmless from any claims, damages or costs arising from your use of the equipment or your breach of this agreement.
13. Severability
If any part of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force and effect.
